Is Soma addicting and can you get high off of it? My boyfriends friend stole a bottle of medicine from my room, a pain killer for my lower back pain called Soma, and I was wondering if it will get you high, like if he could be trying to make money from selling it.

blaze23 replied: "The use together seems kinda counter productive. Lortab has hydrocodone which is a narcotic than can give a "high". Soma is not a narcotic and can cause drowsiness."

These are not medication to play around with too much and a person could fall into a coma and die. Also constant use can cause you to develope ulcers in your stomach."

WIL replied: "Actually Doctors prescribe Soma (Carisoprodol) 350MG tablet is taken every 6 hours for people generally with moderate to sever back problems for long term use. Doctors generally will first prescribe "Flexeril" for short term use and then move patients to Soma for the long term use. I should know because I have sever nerve damage in my lower back and with major muscle spasms and my pain management specialists (I have 3 of them) have had me take Soma for the last 7 years. Now if your thinking of getting "high" off Soma I would strongly suggest you don't. If you exceed 1400 MG per-day your looking at killing your kidneys and it only takes one time to do this in many people since the kidneys can not handle more then that. If you also take an opiate drug compound containing Acetaminophen (Tylenol) like Vicodin, Norco, Percocet, etc. you run the risk of killing your Liver if not your life. If you take Soma with alcohol the Soma effect is much stronger and as such more dangerous because Soma is a muscle relaxant and your heart is a muscle which can suddenly stop causing death. Pharmacist, what is the highest mg given for soma? i have been prescribed 700mg of soma (carisoprodol) i thought 700mg was the highest dose given but a friend of mine is saying he is prescribed 1050mg.. is he lieing or do they give this high of mg
