I dont want to get to excited for my first month..but i cant help it lol wish me baby dust!

Gem - little bean due 24/05/10 replied: "I concieved on my 4th cycle of clomid 50mg days 5 to 9 and progesterone pills days 16 to 26. I was so excited about taking clomid because i was hoping so much that i would get pregnant on the 1st or 2nd cycle. I was so dissapointed when I didn't. But it happened for me on the 4th cycle so keep on taking it up to 6 cycles if you need to, because it can work. Good luck."

Provera & Clomid question? I just finished my 2nd cycle of Provera & Clomid. Is it ok to start the 3rd cycle of Provera if you don't know if you are pregnant or not? If I happen to be pregnant will starting the new Provera cycle effect the baby in any way?? Sorry new to this stuff? Thank you for your answers!

hro replied: "check with your dr."

Ren replied: "I wouldn't start any drug if I thought I might be pregnant, no matter what the doctor said. That's just me though!"

Bandit**** replied: "No, if you are pregnant it will not hurt the baby. Provera is progesterone. Lots of women who have infertility issues will take a form of progesterone daily during the early part of the pregnancy to help keep from having a miscarriage. The best thing you can do though is check with your doctor on what their protocol is. They may want you to come in for a pregnancy test first."

mystictopaz replied: "i dont know if the clomid may be a problem or not coz i was taking that about 5 years ago with another medication not provera and when i fell pregnant 1 was a small risk of deformity if you take it for too long in pregnancy but i tried a few medications so i just cant remember which 1 i was taking at the time. i was a bit worried but my daughter was fine though so i would just get tested before taking the next cycle"

Provera/Clomid question!? So, I will be taking my last Provera pill tomorrow..I wait until the 5th day of my period.. take clomid 5-9..and baby dance of course.. But my question is, when do i test to see if i am pregnant, how many days after ovulation..And if i am not pregnant, when shoudl i start the provera back...Yes, I will be calling the doctor in the morning just to make sure, but would like y'alls opinion. B

Ani replied: "If you are taking it from CD5-9, then you ideally should ovulate around CD15-19. 2 weeks after that is when you should take a pregnancy test if your period hasn't shown up. However, Clomid doesnt work perfectly for everyone. Especially not the first month. So, I would wait at least a week after the pregnancy test before counting yourself out and calling the doctor. Also, its best to try and get your period to start on its own rather than resorting to provera every month, so wait as long as your sanity will let you. That being said, if, while on the Clomid, you haven't ovulated by CD26, you probably won't, or the egg won't be useful. So, I'm sure it would be fine to wait 2 weeks after CD26 (the average woman has her period start about 14 days after ovulation). Another thing, have you ever used Ovulation Predictors? I would use them. They can be a little tricky on Clomid. Some women never really get a positive, some have a small window in which to get one, and still others get several positives in a row. But they really do help pin-point ovulation. When you use them, write the date (or cycle day) on them and set them aside. That way, if you don't get a positive, you can see which was darkest, which would indicate your likely day of ovulation. Start them at about CD12 or 13 and use them til you get a positive then another negative, or until CD20. When you get a positive, you should ovulate 24-48 hours after it. :) Good luck!"

Provera-Clomid-what if bleeding doesnt stop? I've been bleeding for a week today, I started 3 days after last Provera pill. Tomorrow is my last clomid pill. Saturday starts the opk and baby dancing time! But what if I haven't stopped bleeding by then?

phenomenalwoman_ replied: "You probably will stop by Saturday. If it's been a week already, you will probably stop within the 2-3 days. If you continue to bleed you may want to call the doctor to see what's up- Provera shouldn't make your periods last 2 weeks. If it's only spotting, that's OK, Clomid has been known to cause spotting throughout the cycle. Just proceed with things accordingly (you can still ovulate even if you are spotting). HOWEVER, if you continue to spot on Clomid ask your doctor about progesterone suppositories during the luteal phase. Clomid has been known to thin the uterine lining, making it difficult for implantation. The progesterone will help build up the lining. Good luck to you and lots of baby dust!!!"

Elizabeth replied: "I bleed for 19 days one time after Provera then Clomid. You can call your Dr. but there is nothing they can do to stop it. Looks like your husband will just have to suck it up and do it anyway."

Just been prescribed Provera and clomid- anyone else in the same boat or know about these fertility drugs? I haven't had periods in 10 years due to taking progestogen only mini-pill, and since stopping this to try for a baby in December 2006, my periods haven't returned. The fertility doctor has done checks and nothing seems wrong apart from a hormonal imbalance, so I've been prescribed Provera for 7 days to induce a period, followed with 6 months worth of Clomid to make me ovulate. Does anyone know what the success rates are with these drugs? And the side effects look hideous!!!?? Quite scared to start but excited in case it works!!

GueRita replied: "I was presribed the dual...and this is actually my secojd round....First round I was on provera for 10 days 10mg...and started my period 5 days after my last pill...took clomid 50mg cycle days 5-9...but unfortuetly didnt ovulate...this round...I did the provera agian and started 6 days after the last pill and took 100mg of clomid cycle days 5-9....Im currently waiting to test.....On 50mg I had no side affects...this round...sucked...lol...Nauseatious...headache and really bad hot flashes...well good luck and tons of baby dust"

bluestar replied: "i started clomid last month and for the first time ovulated on day 14..... and bingo.......... prego first go..... yay"

Provera & Clomid Questions! Please Help!? Okay ladies I might be using too much info but im worried! On 12/15 I started Provera (first time) and Im waiting for a period. My breasts are untouchable and hurt like you wont believe..I went to the bathroom because I felt something coming out and to my suprise it was a brown darkish discharge so I put on a pantyliner thinking it would be heavier later. I recently went to the bathroom and wiped and there was a pink stain on the tissue! I have a hugs headache and Ive been nauseous all day! I am ttc but I dont think I am pregnant because I dont think you can get pregnant with just provera (or can you) anyway I am cramping and in soo much pain! Also Im wondering if anyone has any provera/clomid success stories! Not too long ago I asked about slimy mucus with what looked like agg whites...Anyone have a clue what that is?? Any information would really help Thanks You! Lots of baby dusT!

judy replied: "I have DS2 because of Provera and Clomid. I remember that everything hurt worse during those months I had to use it. It's been a long time, so I don't have any details for you. Sorry."

Kimi W TTC#1 replied: "I have taken Provera to induce my period but I never felt the way you do. It could be a side effect or you could have gotten pregnant. Typically Provera doesn't help you get pregnant but it won't STOP you from getting pregnant. The slimy mucus that looked like egg whites was probably your fertile CM which means you were ovulating. If you are pregnant its a little early to be feeling any symptoms but every woman is different so its definitely possible. I would contact your doctor and see if they could give you a blood test to make sure everything is ok. You can get a positive blood test for pregnancy this early but more than likelyly not with a hpt. Good luck to you!"

me5abanjatti replied: "Hi, I have taken Both Clomid & Provera since forever and have recently switched to something else. Provera is only used to induce periods and clomid is to be taken from day 2 - 6. With clomid you tend to get lots of side effects, mood swings, nauseas, headache, depression, weight gain ...etc. Not trying to put u off. I've had a cousin who was trying for a second one and was diagnosed with PCOS and they put her on Provera to induce her periods followed by Clomid. This was back in september. She only had 1 cycle and Bham! She's now pregnant 2 mths with TWINS...So everyone is diff it worked for her straight away. Must say tht if your already Pregnant, provera wouldn;t do what its supposed to. Keep ur fingers crossed go get urself tested. Lotsa Baby Dust!"

emily_jane2379 replied: "Provera just brings on your period, so I would be very surprised if you were pregnant- sorry. Having said that- it's great your getting your period, cos it means you can start tkaing your clomid and getting on with the business of ttc. Egg white mucus can be a sign of ovulation, but if it was a few days ago, it's more likely to be a sign that your period is on it's way- that happened to me, and I looked it up. I would think that your headache, nausea are to do with your period coming- as you haven't had one for a while it may be more painful than usual. Take nurofen which will help with the cramping as well. I've been on clomid for 3 months and the doctor called me on xmas eve to say that they don't think clomid is working for me. But it does work for lots of people and is defeintaly worth a try. Good luck, loads of baby dust ad a happy new year. xx"

Clomid provera help?pregnant? I have never had a period in life until i took provera at 21 years old. iam trying to have a baby theres nothing wrong with me i have had everything checked. I just dont bleed unless i take meds. everything is normal when i take then and i ovualate last time i had a ultrasound when i took clomid i had dropped 8 eggs. but why am i not getting pregnant? i have taken clomid and provera for 2 months and nothing but alot of wieght gain. i dont care about the wieght gain i just want a baby. why isnt my period coming without the meds.

mml replied: "has he been checked? but really 2 months isn't long give it a while stress makes it harder to conceive"

livin4christ9203 replied: "Really 2 cycles isn't long enough. I'm ttc #1 and not pregnant yet.. on my first cycle with meds.. provera/clomid also. It can take several cycles to work. Also.. if clomid doesn't work after a couple more cycles.. ask your doctor about femara.. it's basically the same thing.. except not as many bad side effects. My friend got pregnant on that after clomid didn't work for her. Have you been tested for PCOS? If not I would ask about that.. because if so, you might be insulin resistant and need a glucofauge also."

butterfly!11 replied: "honey 2 months is nothing. I just finished my second round of Clomid and am on my TWW. But you can't let yourself get stressed out about this just relax and have a good time trying to conceive. I know easier said then done. you are also very young and still have a lot of time to start a family. I as well as you do not get my period on my own, I have to take Provera/ Clomid. It's very common in women. The dr.'s don't know why this happens it just does. But I would also get checked out for PCOS and see if that could be why also. Good luck and lots of baby dust**********"

Carla G replied: "I didn't do quite the same as you, but did Clomid 100mg CD 3-7, and then on CD 12 received a 10,000 units shot of Novorel (HCG). Only took 1 round and I am pregnant. I am told that it usually takes 2 or 3 rounds before conception, but I will keep my fingers crossed for you!"

Ashley C replied: "I have! I took the provera for a couple months and the clomid for 6 months and on the 6th month I conceived =) Good luck to you!"

MNH replied: "i took that exact combonation, yes i took the metformin the whole time ever day while i took the others. it took a two months trying, and currently 30 weeks with baby girl! Baby dust!!!!!"

lettersforlori replied: "This posting has made me feel much better! I ALSO start provera and clomid 50mg CD 5-9 this month! (I already take metformin 2000mg a day) Be aware that if you haven't taken metformin before, it can REALLY make you have to be very near a ladies room. :/ I will hope the best for both of us! Its our month! *****Baby dust*****"

Boo Boo replied: "I once took clomid for about 1 year without sucess and i prefer to refer to it as the drug from hell with all its horrible side effects. I had very irregular periods but still got them sporadically nonetheless. After several years of various fertility treatments i just fell pregnant naturally and i am now the mother of a 6 month old boy. Clomid has not worked for the 5 or so people i know that have taken it at one time or another - it did however make all of them gain weight. Discuss moving to a different type of fertility treatment if you are unhappy. I found clomid made me depressed and fat and that was about it. Best of luck to you - all good things come to those that wait."

sparkle_chicken replied: "Has your partner had a semen analysis? Perhaps he has a low count, morphology, or motility (or possibly all three low). Also, it can take much longer than 2 months to become pregnant, sometimes up to a year. However it sounds like you are on the right track as you are getting help from a dr. Good luck!"

Rocker Wife replied: "Hi there, Ovulation doesn't guarantee pregnancy. There's only a 25% chance every month for most people. It can take up to a year to conceive and have it be considered normal, so if it's been 2 months, that's not a lot of time. If the Clomid doesn't work within 6 cycles, though, they usually switch to something else. Since you don't like the side effects, you could inquire about switching now. Two other suggestions... 1) have your partner's sperm tested, it might not be you and 2) have your progesterone levels checked. Low progesterone can interfere with pregnancy. Good luck."
