Ortho-Micronor.. Pregnancy Symptoms? I have been on Micronor for 3 months. I never have ever had sore breasts in my life, or ever really had cramps.. well my nipples have been SOOO soore for almost 2 weeks. I have had constant/cramp bloating feeling for like 3-4 days. Then today I have had a metallic taste in my mouth. I have been going to the bathroom every 15 minutes, and I haven't had my period since i started micronor, i did spot last month... i am very good about taking it on time, maybe been a couple hours off once or twice, but you have a three hour window. what are the chances i am pregnant on micronor, has anyone gotten pregnant on it??? i hate spending money on tests that are negative, im not worried about having a baby if it were to happen, but i would like to wait a little bit longer lol..

scared mom to be replied: "Iv never been on that bc be four so if i was you just go to your doctors they will do a simple blood test and your insurance should cover it. Good Luck"

no name replied: "i've been on micronor for about 3 months as well. i just started my fourth pack and all of a sudden i started feeling breast tenderness as well. I haven't had a period since i started. I take pregnancy tests from time to time just to make sure i'm not pregnant and they all have been negative. I've never had tenderness to this degree either. i don't have any other symptoms that you have. I took a preg test 2 days ago and it was negative, but the tenderness just started about a week ago so it may be to early to be accurate. i wish you the best."

how many women are taking the birth control ortho micronor? how many of you got an ectopic pregnancy? i am taking ortho micronor and i just learned that it can cause ectopic pregnancy's more often than resulting in a normal pregnancy and that it kills already fertilized eggs :( o i might stop taking it but i just wanted to hear if anyone else taiking this pill has had any of these experiences.... if anyone does reasurch like i have you will realize that progestrone only birth control such are the pill i have mentioned above thickens your cervical mucus to prevent sperm from reaching the egg this does not always work and when the sperm do reach and fertilize the egg the pill also alters the lining of the uterous and causes the already fetilized egg to not be able to attach and in result you either expell the egg or it causes an ectpic pregnancyit sound like whoever answered my question first was the one who was misinformed... if anyone does reasurch like i have you will realize that progestrone only birth control such are the pill i have mentioned above thickens your cervical mucus to prevent sperm from reaching the egg this does not always work and when the sperm do reach and fertilize the egg the pill also alters the lining of the uterous and causes the already fetilized egg to not be able to attach and in result you either expell the egg or it causes an ectpic pregnancyit sound like whoever coop <3 was misinformed... for me 20% of the time is enough why does everyone have to be so mean when they answer i was not trying to push my views on people and that is what everyone acts like i am doing...pills like ortho micronor are more likely to kill fetilized eggs than combination pills...thank you i would not like anyone else to be rude to me, because my question was not saying anything bad about anyone else... and when you loos a egg naturally it is not your fault but if you take a pill that causes this then it is

Coop <3 replied: "ALL hormonal birth control increases your risk for ectopic pregnancy. Also, birth control doesn't kill fertilized eggs, it prevents the egg from being released altogether. It sounds like you've been severely misinformed. EDIT: Don't be a bitch :) And yes, I have done my research (spell much?). I am fully aware of how birth control works, it STILL doesn't kill fertilized eggs."

1st Baby =) Gabriel born 3/9/09! replied: "I just had a baby, and I was prescribed this pill. I think if you feel uncomfortable taking it, then you shouldn't take it. Women go on birth control for personal reasons, and if you don't want to take it...you shouldn't. It's all up to you. =) All birth control pills work the same way, not just Ortho Micronor. I have done research, and I found that what you're describing only happens less than 20% of the time. Nature expels fertilized eggs plenty of the time, too. Nobody ever gets angry about that, personal beliefs in it or not."

Why lactating after not breastfeeding for 8 months and all pregnancy test say no? I took prego tests ever week for a month until I got my period, only lasted for 4 days. I take the birthcontrol ortho micronor so what's wrong?

versantly replied: "this is normal, especially with the hormones you take. talk to your gyn about it."

well heres my problem im on birth control (ortho-micronor) 1 day this month i drop a pill and couldnt find it? .........now im at the end of my pack i havent had my period yet but i know its bout that time(i have really bad cramps) the only weird thing is that on top of the cramps when i go to the bath room(pee) it hurts really bad and feels not normal and i see a small amount of blood on the tissue but never on the sanitary napkin. what could this be a sign of?......do i need to go to the hospital?. i took 2 pregnancy test both were negative so i dont think im pregnant.

versantly replied: "this is a great question for your gyn and/or pharmacist. be sure to get STD testing and an exam. use condoms."

Kels replied: "Sounds like a UTI (urinary tract infection). It is common for it to burn when you pee and some blood isn't all that uncommon either. Make an appointment to see a doctor and drink lots of cranberry juice or take cranberry pills until you get an antibiotic prescribed. Cranberry does wonders of the urinary system and a glass a day can usually keep you UTI free in the future."

does taking pregnancy test while taking birth control nuva ring effects results? i started my new BC (Nuva Ring) ,but before I started I went 1 month without BC but before than I had BC it was Ortho-MicroNor. Than I run out of pills I was having sex with any BC or protection. So august and Sept my period was on. Sept was the month were. I didn't have any more BC. Than finally on Oct 13 got my new BC and I started using it but my period never came on for Oct. This is the week my Menstrual supposed come on....My stomach has been cramping like crazy since I start the NuvaRing. IDK if it because if i started the new BC..I took 4 Pregnancy tests and they all said negative. Or if my Period did come on because of the different hormomes in the NuvaRing..or from me being stress out.

blondie replied: "your doc should have done a pregnancy test before starting any new b/c to be sure but i really doubt you are pregnant. it is probably just your body getting used to the new b/c."

grace_under_pressure2001 replied: "It may be the NuvaRing. My daughter used it two months and experienced the same things. She had terrible cramping and headaches. The doctor told us that it was not for everyone and to stop using it immediately."

Lil'Mama18 replied: "doctors always preform a pregnancy test before giving BC because taking BC while pregnant will harm or cause defects or worse to your baby. SO its probably just your body getting used to it."

*BrEEzy* replied: "Your doctor was supposed to perform a pregnancy test before giving you birth control, especially a new form of it. I would just think it is your body responding to the new birth control.."

Possible pregnancy?on mini pill, late period, boobs sore? I am on the mini pill(ortho micronor) and i just started it in november. When I started it i got my period almost as soon as i took the first pill. Last month i got my period on the exact spot in the pack as the first month. A couple days ago i was expecting my period and it didn't come, its late 5 days. I have always been regular with my periods always. The last time i wasn't was about 4 years ago and i now have a 3 year old, lol. My boobs are really sore and seem bigger and tight for about a week now, and i had some palpitations(chest flutters) the other day also which i hear can be related to pregnancy. Does this sound like pregnancy? i mean i never got nausea with my first child but i did have the cramps which i dont have either. Advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks! I also wanted to add that before the mini pill i was on the regular pill ortho cyclen for 3 years never had a problem with late periods, ofcourse this is a different pill just thought that i'd add that, this isn't like the first time i've ever started a pill. Thanks

sunny replied: "a very good possibility"

tara replied: "I would contact your doctor if you haven't gotten your period by monday. It sounds like maybe you could be pregnant."

jlduvall1981 replied: "Possibly...If you are already 5 days late you should be able to take a pregnancy test and tell."

Amanda P replied: "Ok, so don't panic, this happens to me all the time. Sometimes I have waited for my period to come in this same situation for longer...And as far as the sore boobs...You started in November which means your body is just starting to react, your boobs are going to grow over the first six or so months and that makes them tender. Every time I have gone on the pill this as happened to me, super sore boobs for months...go get a test so you can sleep soundly :) Oh! and I used to drive myself crazy stressing about being preggo, but I find I stress a little less since I went on the Nuva Ring since I don't have to worry about missing a pill. Also, I find the side effects have been a lot less intense, I don't get as moody :) Hope this helps :)"

Chance of Pregnancy? What is the chance of me being pregnant if I am in my first month of Ortho Micronor and had sex close to what would be my ovulation time, but he withdrew before he finished? Thanks for any help! Normally I wouldn't worry, but I have had some very, very light spotting yesterday and today and am kind of freaking myself out with this and finals week at college.

jul replied: "you should be fine... if you were already on the pill."

NV replied: "its 50 : 50 chances to get pregnancy"

Shelby S replied: "Chances are still there, did you two use protection? Protection or not.. birth control or not..theres still a chance right..if your that worried about it go to your doctor and get a test done..and also be careful cause the pill usually doesn't start working the first month..sometimes they take up to 3 months to start working properly."

Alex T replied: "honestly i woulnt worry about it focus on you exams ....... its seems very unlikely."

Bob D replied: "you moron- you are prego, big time. lol"

Kwadwo B replied: "WITHDRAWING BEFORE DISCHARGING IS NEITHER HERE NOR THERE. BEFORE HE FULLY DISCHARGES SOME SPERMS MUST HAVE COME OUT OF HIM WHICH IS CAPABLE OF MAKING YOU PREGNANT. YOU CAN GET PREGNANT."

Could I be pregnant? Or is it just the birth control? So, I've been on Ortho-Micronor progestin only birth control for a few months now. I've liked it fine, no abnormal weight gain or anything like that, however, I haven't had a period in about 7 weeks. Since I've been on birth control, my boyfriend and I stopped using condoms. I'm really scared that I could be pregnant! I've taken 3 pregnancy tests, and they were all negative, so I'm freaking out! Where is my period! Is this common in progestin only pills?

b2b 5-2-10 replied: "Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramping/bloating, dizziness, headache, tiredness, breast tenderness, decrease in breast size, acne, oily scalp, hair loss, weight gain, and vaginal infections may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Your periods may be early or late, shorter or longer, heavier or lighter than normal. You may also have some spotting between periods, especially during the first several months of use. If bleeding is prolonged (more than 8 days) or unusually heavy, contact your doctor. *******If you miss 2 periods in a row (or 1 period if the pill has not been used properly), contact your doctor for a pregnancy test.********* false negatives happen - you can hold out to see if you miss a second period or get a blood test"

Maureen replied: "See your doctor but some woman do skip their period while on the pill (I have but only one). It's possible you'll get your period next week. Check the packet that came with your pill. I believe progesterone pills can make you irregular."

Could I be pregnant or is it the pill? Ok, so this is my first month taking Ortho Micronor (a progesterone only pill) after switching from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (a combination pill). I seem to have missed my period this month. My boyfriend and I have used condoms this whole entire month just to be safe.... So it seems unlikely I could be pregnant. My question is: is it normal to miss your period in the first month of taking this new pill or is it something I should worry about? P.s. I'm going to take a pregnancy test soon just to be safe.... But I'd like to hear what people think? Thank you so much.

fierceangel replied: "Any change in your pill regimen can result in a missed period. To feel better about the situation, it can't hurt to take a test."

Future Mommy replied: "any change in your birth control pill can cause a missed period"

Another "Am I pregnant" question....sorry? To start off, I am on birth control. I was on a combination pill for several months but I have now been on Ortho Micronor (a progesterone only pill) for nearly 2 months. My boyfriend and I used condoms the full first month. But haven't used condoms since that first month ended. I do not know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but I feel like I've experienced every possible early pregnancy sign this month. I spotted for like one and a half days. I got sick for a couple days and threw up some. My breasts are not tender but my nipples are a bit sore. And I've been very crampy and bloated for a while. My question is: Although I've been taking my birth control properly, does it seem like I'm pregnant? I just feel so off lately and am looking for some insight. :/

nydp02 replied: "U need to get your birth control changed it might be getting you sick."

kroos20 replied: "take a test, could just be the pill"

humbug replied: "Birth control isn't 100% effective. You may well be pregnant. Though the chances are lower than those who don't use any form of contraception. I would take a pregnancy test. It could well be just side effects from the birth control, however it's best to get yourself tested. I wish you the best of luck."

♥♥♥ replied: "Wait until you miss your period, then take a test."

radical_sady replied: "Take the test."

fierceangel replied: "You're not pregnant, but progesterone is the hormone that maintains pregnancy. If you're having pregnancy symptoms, blame your pill and talk to your Doc about trying a different type or brand."

pimpinqueenl1989 replied: "The best thing for you to do is if you don't want to go to the doctor yet, you should take a pregnancy test. That's the best advice I can give you."

Mel replied: "My first born child was a birth control baby along with the second. I would get it checked. In my case the antibiotics weak end the effects of the birth control."

Kari replied: "I would take a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant, and if it is negative, maybe set an appointment with your doc about these symptoms. Maybe this pill is not the right one for you?"

**JUIICY GIIRL** replied: "I think its just the pill. I had some of the same things.. I've had a child so i know the symptoms. every month I was taking a pregnancy test But i guess it was just the pill TRI SPRINTEC now im on YAZ, and its my first month so far, so good"

kpscola02 replied: "If you ask me i dont think the pill is very effective, but that is just me. If you think you might be pregnant then you might be. When you start new birth control though, it kind of gives you pregnancy symptoms like, sore nipples, nausea, crampy and very bloated i felt like this not too long ago when i changed my BC so the only real way to know would be to take a test in like a week or so. But your period didn't last long because your hormones are just a lil wacky it will all come together for you next month....YAY!!!.....lol...anyways, your okay."

nothingconstant replied: "If you have been taking your birth control correctly, the odds of being pregnant are almost nil. If you were pregnant, it would be one little miracle thats for sure."

♥ Little Miss Mileyy ♥ replied: "how old are you?"

8 weeks w/ #1 replied: "YOU CANNOT have all em symptoms of pregnancy so soon. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and the only thing ive experianced is headaches! Grrr... It sucks! LOL It sound slike you birth control is making you feel sicky hunnie. Good luck"

-Hey! It's Just Me- replied: "BC pills always make me sick like that. They mimic pregnancy (and not in a good way). I had to stop taking them, but I hear it can take 3 months for your body to get used to hormones. It doesn't sound like your pregnant, but I had a friend get pregnant while she was on Depo and the guy wore a condom & it broke. She's due on the 16th of this month."

Kookie replied: "TAKE A TEST IT MIGHT BE THE PILL SOMETIMES THE PILL DOESN'T WORK IVE SEEN A COMMERICAL WHEN THE PILL DOESN'T WORK AND YOU CAN TAKE SOMETHING ELSE BUT IT DOESN'T WORK IF YOUR ALREADY PREGGO"

merloutre77 replied: "The only way to tell for sure is to take a test, but in my experience progesterone only pills are really only safe for breastfeeding women. Although other devices like the implanon, which are progesterone only are very effective because th dosage is precise. If you miss or even get the timing of a progesterone only pill you could get pregnant."

krystaldlrs replied: "Sounds like you may be pregnant by the symptoms you describe but the pill when taken properly is 99.98% effective. I would suggest taking a pregnancy test to ease your mind. You most likely are not pregnant but there is always a chance. You need to take the test and find out for sure because if you are you would definantly need to see your Dr. ASAP!"

Allie C replied: "You could be pregnant. You should hold off until the end of the month then go to Doctorctor and get a pregnancy test if you syill fell the same way."

Karen K replied: "I think it may be the birth control pills making you have these symptoms. I wouldn't worry about that can make you spot too! Good luck...Karen"

Maggie replied: "The same thing happened to me on that pill, see your doctor for a preg test and get them to change your pill if possible. BTW i wasn't pregnant!"

LaceCon22 replied: "Birth control affects your period,it can make you feel pregnant even though you have been on the pill for a while, when I was on birth control I swear every month I was like "I'm pregnant" I didn't take them very long about 6 months I got tried of being scared LOL I got an IUD. Just check with your doctor or read online about the side effects for the type of pills your taking, if you want take a home pregnancy test because it is hard to tell wheather its your pills or pregnancy."
