laineyette replied: "See an endocrinologist...sounds like your hormones are outta whack. Could be a pituitary problem that is screwing up your thyroid, repro hormones (hot flushes), cortisol (unsteadiness, fatigue, lightheadedness), growth hormone (confusion, not being all there) and so on. All these hormones need to be tested. If anything else is off other than TSH could mean pituitary involvment by tumor or cyst...next step is pituitary mri contrast and without."
thyroid cause this? the past 2 mounths i have been drinking a lot of water and have been constipated every other day and o diahrea. i have not seen a doctor about this buti take nexium and when i have applejuice i go to the bathroom fine. and i have dry skin. Could this be as a result of a proble with my thyroid. i heard it was but wanted opinion i already understand i should see a doctor
fightintxaggie98 replied: "Low thyroid levels can cause constipation, fatigue, weight gain, skin and hair problems, among other things. I don't know what apple juice would have to do with anything, but if it works, use it!
Good luck at your doctor's visit."
LH23 replied: "Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism often cause non-specific symptoms and hence it is difficult to tell whether you have a thyroid condition or not and it definitely is a good idea to see a doctor about this. Hypothyroidism is associated with constipation but often also causes other symptoms such as weight gain, fatigue, cold intolerance, thin and brittle hair and nails.
Nexium is often used to decrease the amount of acid produced in the stomach and to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux but it can actually CAUSE constipation, diarrhea and a dry mouth.
Constipation can also simply be caused by a diet that's too low in fibre. Try eating more fibre and see your doctor :-)
Cheers"
anxiety, GERD or thyroid? i've been wondering what is happening with me. i have occasional heartburn and i'm taking nexium as per doctors prescribed. however, i feel dizziness most times of the day and i'm starting to think that i have anxiety disorder. i also feel dizzy and anxiety starts to come in after eating. i had my blood test and it seems that everything is normal except slightly elevated SGPT and Triglycerides mainly because of fatty liver. i'm planning to have endoscopy next week to see the causes. Also, i've checked with endocri. last week and done blood test, showed that i have a slightly lowered TSH but normal Free T4.
Indiana Jones replied: "i had suddeun anxiety, shaking, dizziness fast heartrate at rest, chest pain that felt like heartburn, mood swings, sweating, felt hungry then when i ate would feel sick after a few bites. i ended up have hyperthyriodism to the point that my thyroid slowed down to much and i had hypothyroidsim. so if you have any of these other symptomes i would say you have a thyroid problem."
can someone help me with allergic reaction rashes? I have little red itchy rashes all over me, my legs, chest, head and back and the Dr.s say it is an allergic reaction to one of my meds as I have RA and Osteoarthritis and I quit taking the Nsaids and now just take my hydrocodone and 800 mg of Motrin and of course my thyroid meds and Nexium. Can you develop an allergy to a med you have been on for two years and if so what can I do to relieve this freaking itching. It is seriously driving me crazy!!!! Thanks for any help you can give me Cat
Ailva S replied: "i'm allergic to NSAIDS too, and nexium infact, and anything that ends in "eine"... try to find out which one of your meds is causing this and find a replacement. it may take a while but you'll feel much better after it, and there's always a suitable replacement med out there u just have to get a clever doc on your side to find one.
in the meanwhile, get an alovera plant and break a leaf and smear the gel on your rash, it always helps me, and it cures burns. other options are germolene or benovate. don't let the rash get infected, take a cold shower if it get's too hot. you're lucky if the rash is the only symptoms of your reaction, i usually get a ton more, do be careful as these things sometimes get worse. u can monitor your tolerance for drugs through blood tests. some drugs change my blood count dramatically, and when i go off them everything returns back to normal.
good luck, and get well soon!"

Can this be caused by a Viral Infection of some sort? Doctors believe so.? I have been feeling unwell for nearly 3 months now. It all started off with the tingling of the fingertips on my left hand. A few days after that i was flushed with fatigue and ongoing lightheadedness which made me feel "Spaced out" and a dull "not in this world" feeling. I went to a G.P. and he found out that i had some sort of middle ear infection and put me on antibiotics. I also saw an ENT who checked me up and said that my ear was abit red and probably was all due to a viral infection. My ear ended up feeling better after a few weeks but the lightheaded, dull, confused, anxiety feeling was still there. I started getting really severe heartburn pains and indigestion, and i was ordered to get a gastroscopy in which they found out that i had chronic gastritis and 3 stomach ulcers. I am now on Nexium for that. Recently i completed a blood test which blood count was normal but my thyroid TSH was low. Have had brain MRI which was normal too. Can anyone give me insight to this?
I have had 4 blood tests done. All concluded with normal blood counts and slightly high liver count (*93). I have been tested for HSV, Hep B & C, HIV in which all were NEGATIVE.
Recently i have been feeling run down, fatigued, my body feels hot but i do not have a fever. These symptoms along with ongoing symptoms in which i have had for nearly 3 months such as lightheadedness, anxiety, spaced out, hard to concentrate, dull and more...
I have not been able to go to work for nearly 3 months because of this so hoping for some insight...

I've seen a neurologist and he has done a EEG test which results were normal too. I have also seen a balance specialist who did a caloric test and found out that i had vestibular weakness on my right side.
Doctors believe that it is all due to a viral infection that has not fully healed.
My lifestyle before feeling this illness was quite hectic. I would binge drink and smoke every weekend on a social level and have late nights. Im thinking this might be a contribution to all of this?

donna_honeycutt47 replied: "If your Thyroid is offwack, it will cause all sorta crap to happen. I hope they are giving you medication for this also. Good Lord when it rains it pours, you poor fellow. Just hang in there and take all of your medicines, and I pray this is all thats wrong with you. You sure deserve a break."
K replied: "I doubt your symptoms could be explained by a simple viral infection, particularly since they've been going on for 3 months. Docs consider bacterial infections after a week. Viruses exist on the cell, while bacteria exist inside cells....thus, usually need antibiotic help to sweep them away. Well, mononucleosis might be an exception. It can take forever to recover from that. You should get tested for these long-living viruses. Mono, but maybe Epstein-Barr as well. There are blood tests to confirm them.
Stress can reek havoc on your body and can CAUSE anything. Really. At the very least, the fags and drink?? Likely could explain the ulcers and liver results. Upside of all this is that you're getting a rest :-).
If you have high TSH levels, that result tends toward hypothyroidism. Has your doctor mentioned hypothyroidism?? Check out this site:
Perhaps your levels warrant medication.
Gastritis can also cause a foggy, fatigue, sort of light-headache type feeling. I have gastritis. Haven't been successful with treatments though. Anyway, if you have been on the Nexium for less than 3 weeks, give it time. It took about that long for me to feel any difference (but, before it stopped working for me). You might find that your symptoms start to get better. If you still have the gastrointestinal symptoms, go back to the doc. Your medication may need to be titrated up or down. There are many Proton Pump Inhibitors to choose from.
I have endured multiple health issues for about 2 years now. It has impacted my ability to work, function, my relationships, and, well, pretty everything. So, just know that there is someone out there that *gets* what you're going through--how frustrating and seemingly neverending...My heart goes out to ya mate!!
We DO have similar symptoms. Click on my profile and check out my question entitled "Gastrointestinal docs?? or other knowledgeable peps??" Any insight?? Just an invitation here. Please don't feel obligated to comment on my question..."
Left-sided chest pain radiating to back/shoulder blade? Could this be secondary to accidentally taking one 1080 mg tablet of Urocit-K (my husband's medicine)? I thought I was taking my multivitamin which looks almost identical. I just left it alone and went to bed, and now I have this pain described in the title which comes and goes. It's seeming to detensify a little bit, maybe.
Additional Details:
* I am a 35-year-old female.
* I have lost 85 pounds and have about 35-40 more pounds to lose.
* My blood work is picture-perfect except for slightly low thyroid, including cholesterol total of 146 and fasting glucose of 70.
* I am on Dilantin, Nexium, levothyroxine (0.25 mg), and multivitamin.
* I have a home blood pressure machine and my reading just now was 117/72 with a heart rate of 85 (with no abnormal heart rhythms, according to the machine. (Side note: I have no history of high blood pressure, but my dad does and my mom did, so I still take my pressures every day even though they're always normal.)
laineyette replied: "You really should get to an ER and have them run an ekg to rule out heart attack. A b/p machine is not going to show a heart attack...you could have a normal pulse and b/p and still be having one."
re,re,re:lump deep in my throat could it be cancer? too many replys and not reading previous posts, heres the story :) and i had a scope done, ultrasound showed no problems with thyroid but it shows alot of tumors? or raised areas in my throat but i cant understand why the summary thast was written up didint show or say anything about them and I took nexium and i got the hives and realy couldnt breatheeeeee while taking them so i quit taking them :( and i did see a ENT doctor and he was the one who put me on nexium and yes he did see a red raised area inflamed and said it was acid reflux I do get heart burn with spicy foods , but i try to avoid them my aunt died of esophagus cancer I guess im ok since no one listens to me Im tiredof calling the doctors office andno one calls back :( , fatigue, hard to breathe ( i also have copd) and weight up and down and im just tiredof it alllllll ) mm yeah i guess depression now !!!
wrote earlier I felt like there was a lump in my throat and I had a ultrasound done and thyroid showed normal but there are areas some as big as 14cm y doesnt the ultrasound report say anything about theses and i still find it hard to breathe and swallow, what do i do next?
im not refusing tx I take zantac, but they look at the readings and not the film and no one has called me back for me to even ask about my blood work !!! this is a contineous of ( lump in my throat can it be cancer) please read them all thanks
and I have been on antibiotics for toooooooo long as it is!!!
I took films to doctor seems in florida they only send results of test not what else they find , so my doctor is doing a ct of neck, soft tissue with contrast and a EGD maybe if they would of sent report covering it alllllll id already had theses done :(

No one here will be able to give you a diagnose based on what you have said to us.... Only a doctor can perform the necessary tests to find out if there is any cancerous cells in your throat or esophagus! Either talk to your current doctors about the concerns you have or find yourself someone you can trust and that can give you the answers to all your questions."
sylvia5482 replied: "I am not an expert, but this sounds like a classic case of dehydration. Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day or more if you can handle it. Also, take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2 x day. Read the apple cider vinegar website along with the water cure. Take care."
cara replied: "Get a second and third opinion. Try natural remedies."
TOokieTook replied: "I really do not think any of us are qualified to tell you if it is or if it isn't. That is a question that you must ask a professional licensed doctor. If you are having issues with the doctor you are seeing currently and you are not getting your replies on time (considering that you are not the only one doing blood work it takes about one to two weeks to get the reply) then you better go to another doctor get a second person who is not part of the clinic you are going to. So here is what I WOULD DO... if I am having issued with one place I do not plan on goin back to that same place, so go to two different doctors (even if one does give you a result for your test two opinions are better than one...three if your medical is free) Even if one person says you have nothing get a second opinion on it, my friends aunt died from stomach cancer because the doctor failed to do proper testing and told her she was okay and she was diagnosed by a second doctor... so live and let learn so you learn from her mistake for seeing the second doctor too late.... sooo go get your self checked up and good luck to you."

cabochick23 replied: "We are not doctors hon! You need to get yourself to a specialist! We feel your pain and your anxiety though. You are probably just panicked, due to your family history and continued smoking....have you quit yet? I think that would take a huge burden off yourself. Quit smoking, #1. Then get a specialist opinion. Best of luck."
Char replied: "Please change doctors or do what you have to in order to get some answers. You can't go on like this. I'm sure an ENT and/or gastro would try and rule out Barrett's esophagus, or any other cancerous condition. I'm worried about you. I hope everything turns out alright. If it's cancer, they have good treatments out there. But, you have to know what it is before you can get treatment.
Best wishes"
jen19801976 replied: "I have thyroid cancer but you say that yours is normal. I wonder why the drs are not doing a CT with contrast to get better imaging. Dont know if you are in the US or Canada but maybe a dr from a walk in clinic might be of more help. If you find it hard to breath and are fed up, the only thing to get the ball rolling would be to go to emergency. I just had a node removed from my chest mets from thyroid cancer. Had a hard time breathing so I went to the emergeny room. My GP finally listed and I was schedulled with a thoracic surgeon and just had surgery. This will be my third surgery.
Hope you get some more help"

K replied: "This may not be what you want to hear, but as an outsider, this is the way things appear. You have been lucky enough to get correctly diagnosed. God knows, that certainly doesn't happen all the time. But, you are refusing treatment. So, Nexium didn't work for you. Why aren't you inquiring after an alternative medication?? Nexium is essentially a proton pump inhibitor and there are many, many different classes and types. If you had an allergic reaction (and it sounds like you have) to one, ask your doctor to try another "class" of the same drug. If your acid reflux is left untreated, you open yourself to more serious problems: errosion of your teeth, esophageal cancer. Man, go back and try another class of proton pump inhibitors. Don't CHOOSE to suffer with this."
Tina replied: "Hi Bonnie
I'd get a copy of those tests and take them to a different doctor for evaluation. Don't stop trying if you think somethings wrong. The raised areas in your throat could be a reaction to medications, maybe infection, or irritation. What about blood work, did they do any to evaluate your thyroid? They might see a normal reading for t3 and 4 levels but it might not be normal for you. I struggled with thyroid problems for a long time, my levels were "normal" but on the low end of normal and it wasn't normal for me. I'm on medication now after losing hair, being tired, and my thyroid has a nodule now because doctors didn't listen. I found a new doctor that did listen, you need to look for a new doctor."

Coats Aloe International Garland Tx This will help your weight. Thyroid problems cause weight gain. Anxiety and stress cause weight gain, lack of energy causes weight gain. If you have copd some of the medications can conflict with your breathing.
This is a serious matter but try one bottle of Aloe and see how you do, it is all natural and cannot harm you I use Kiwi Strawberry.
My dog recently had sever gastroenteritis that then went to her mouth in the form of sever ulcers, then her ear with ulcers and pus. The antibiotics helped but until I started her on the alovera every day she did not get better. She would have died without it. so it does work. All the best..."
