breyet_leyet replied: "First touch the area, if sore to the touch, might be your kidney, low back, side of spine, get to a doctor FAST.
Otherwise thru activity or sleep position, your back is out. I go to chiropractors for this kind of pain.
When the back is not in alignment, off to the side, twisted, it stretches and twists the Muscle surrounding the back, spine.= spasm.
The nerves are in the muscle and they are screaming pain, warning, something not right here, owwww.
Putting the spine back, lessens the stretch, twist, muscle spasms, and calms the nerve.
Problem after issue is resolved, swelling has to go down. This could take 6-8 weeks maximum to lessen pain, if you get the back adjusted and righted.
Then if back was going out all along before reached level of pain, muscle used to holding has been in wrong position, stretched out.
Muscle will have to be retrained and strengthened to hold correct position, so generally needs more adjustments, do overs for a while.
I went thur this for 15 years, finally off all meds, just use over the counter meds if I can't get to choiropractor.
Also, get a good, new bed. You need support there. Sometimes just getting a new bed, puts back in stronger support position, and back can get itself back into position.
Although I love after effects of chiro, I feel straight, tall, my nerves are working at maximum capacity, my body rejuvenates when I sleep.
Bed is a biggie though, you spend how many hours a day there? ALOT.
Do not let some one who is not a chiro adjust you, they will scr*w you up big time. Check and make sure you are not herniated, ask chiro if he has xray machine, mine does, you should be x-rayed before he touches you in case you have some difference, abnormality from birth.
Kidney is very big concern though. Check with doctor to be sure, best to treat kidney infection, save kidney, than risk dialysis."

How to treat stomach pain and diarrhea caused by Ibuprofen? My fiance took some early this morning with a glass of milk and soon after got a stomach ache. He thought he needed to eat some more so he did but it just got worst. Now he has diarrhea too. Does anyone know what we could do to help him feel better? Thanks!
A ♥ A replied: "ginerale or sprite should calm him stomach down. also no greasy foods for at least week"
smurfa 3b replied: "it's unlikely to be caused by the ibuprofen although he may be allergic to it or it may have irritated his stomach any how"
What is causing this back pain? I'm 14 years old, 152cm tall (nearly 5ft) and 56 kg. I've been having severe back pain for over a year now.
I know the pain is bad because I have to take aspirin to ease the pain as Ibuprofen and Paracetemol tend to have little/no effect. I went to my GP when the pain first started last July but he said to wait a year and see if it has cleared up.
A year later I went to see him again and he said to just keep taking painkillers.
The pain is not muscular but feels like the pain actually travels up my spine, somedays it is just in the upper curve of my spine near the shoulder blades.
My Mother and grandmothers (all nurses) are concerned as to whether it is growing pains or not since I've never gone through a "growth spurt" as of yet in my life (I've always been the shortest among my age group).
Do you think that it is growing pains or should I go see my GP or a chiropractor?
-------
Are there any tips for growing taller?
I eat healthily and get plenty of excercise, but my dad says because I already have a muscular/stocky build, I'm not likely to grow anymore.
I have been doing Back excercises but they do not help the pain nor the growth process so I gave up around 3 months ago.

Medrol dosepack not helping pain and causing side effects? I injured my shoulder, and my doctor put me on the medrol dosepack. I've been on it for three days, and it hasn't helped the pain at all. And since I started taking it, I've vomited twice (and I have been taking with food as directed) and I've become extremely depressed. This can't be normal, right?
My shoulder felt, much, much better when he had me on vicodine and prescription strength ibuprofen, and that wasn't causing me mood problems at all.
thebattwoman replied: "Medrol can actually alter how your body responds to stress. It can also lower the immune system and leave you open to further problems. Saying that however, most meds have side-effects and if we read them all, we really would never take anything. It's obvious with the vomiting though that this med isn't agreeing with your system and you might want to look for an alternative. Vicoden isn't good for you, it's an opiate and is good for short-term pain relief only. It also won't help with inflammation. Talk to your doctor about something else, maybe Ultracet which is less harsh on your system and ask if you can have the prescription strength ibuprofen too. You might just want to try the Ibuprofen alone first, this always seems to be the most effective form of pain relief for injuries and inflammation."
Does glucosamine help alleviate back pain caused by osteoarthritis? Most pain relief creams, etc. target the muscles, rather than the nerves that are affected by osteoarthritis. I have heard that glucosamine may be helpful in treating arthritis. I am not looking for a cure, just pain relief. I am currently taking high doses of Ibuprofen, which can cause liver damage. I would rather take something that targets the source of the problem. Has anyone taken glucosamine and had positive results for back pain relief?
contrabandamanda replied: "glucosamine is very healthy for you. seriously. ive had back/shoulder pains along with my family members. my nana is very into health products and glucosamine has helped her so much.....its a wonderful thing"
felford2003 replied: "add chrondroitin to it and you might be surprised. The 2 together are supposed to work but they are not cures. But some help is better than nothing"
Cali-Gal replied: "My husband has had considerable shoulder pain. I started him on 500 mg Glucosamine and 400 mg Chondroitin (combined in chewable form) along with 1000 mg Flaxseed Oil in softgels. He takes each three times a day with his meals. He noticed after a couple days considerable relief. I don't know if it will help with your situation, but it would be worth a try."
Sarah M replied: "Glucosamine helps rebuild the discs and cartilage between bones by providing a building block. You have to drink tons of water to make this regeneration possible. It could not hurt osteoarthritis but is more effective and meant for curing degenerative bones/discs.
Def. not instant or quick pain relief.
My grandma gets acupuncture and weekly massages for pain management. Especially massages, try a chiropractor or even better is Chinese medicine massage therapist. Alternative medicine is out there, but can be very effective for pain relief especially with back problems."
deltaqueen replied: "Yes with chondrontin mixed with it, it will help arthritis pain and is alot more healthy than ibuprofen. You might want to get off of the ibuprofen for a while as it alone does not have long lasting results. Aleve has naproxin in it and very helpful.
It concerns me that you say osteoarthritis, but you nerve pain relief?? OA usually causes severe joint pain. So if you are experiencing nerve pain as well you should see you doctor, because you may have ruptured or herniated a disc."
Back pain caused by throwing up? So back in 2005 I was throwing up about daily because of migraines. One time after I threw up I had severe back pain. I could not move or walk for a week or two. I kept it on the heating pad until I could function. Now 4 years later my back has got progressively got worse. I do not know if anyone else has experienced this. I am thinking I might need to tell my doctor.
Side Note:
If you have this what medications do they give you.
I have been addicted to pain killers and regular tylenol and ibuprofen cause rebound migraines so extended use I can not do. Let me know!
Beacon replied: "It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem, kidneys or a number of other things...It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Ask your Doctor for a referral for a CT or MRI scan.
The wrong type of treatment or exercises can do more damage than good and you need to have your back properly diagnosed prior to ANY treatment.
Again you do need to have a CT / MRI scan or such done before allowing ANYONE to touch your back.
Get a professional opinion from the radiologist doing the scan in his report to your doctor and then go from there."
