How do I detox from Coffee (Caffeine)without headaches? I am trying to be a healthier person. I have slight high blood pressure, and was recommended by a health care practitioner to cut out coffee inasmuch as caffeine can be addicting and also can increase heart rate, make one more anxious and tired because you can crash from caffeine. When I have attempted in the past to quit caffeine, I got humongous, powerful headaches and felt nauseous and fatigued. This was a result of caffeine withdrawal. Although caffeine withdrawal can only last 3 day, I need my job and to work ans cannot perform well with a headach and being naseous and fatigued. But I really wish to quit. Can anyone please offer me advice? Are ther supplements to take to combat caffeine withdrawal? I would love to hear from either former coffee drinkers or people also trying to quit caffeinated coffee who have solid advise for me. Thank you and God Bless.

If you are used to drinking a lot of coffee then make a gradual switch over a week or even two. If you use instant coffee then make your own mix in an empty jar, say 4 Tbsp regular and 1 Tbsp decaf (20% reduction in caffeine) or if you are seriously addicted, 9 Tbsp regular and 1 decaf. When the jar is empty make a new mix, this time 3 Tbsp regular and 2 Tbsp decaf, then next time make it weaker again etc. Same would apply to ground coffee. Another approach is to keep a record of your coffee intake for a few days, then see which one you "need" least and substitute e.g. herbal tea or water (can be fizzy or with a twist of lemon). After a few days substitute one more cup etc until you are down to just one cup a day. Personally after Baby was born I started drinking tea regularly (black tea with milk in the morning, green tea sometimes in the afternoon) and almost never have coffee now. I don't recommend substituting with a supplement (there are things such as guarana, for example) but tea has many benefits and is a gentler stimulant than coffee (but ask your practitioner about suitability of this for your case). Or if you are sure in your case that the withdrawal only lasts for three days, time these for a long weekend or a vacation. Good luck."
Dustin M replied: "Wean yourself off of it. Basically, start by cutting out a cup or two of coffee from your normal daily amount. This will probably be hard, but it shouldn’t cause tremendous side effects, because you’re only reducing your amount, not cutting it off completely. Then, after a few weeks, cut down even more.
The same applies to any caffeine drink, not just coffee."
Side effects from black mamba energy drink or caffeine withdrawls? My 16 year old daughter drank a black mamba energy drink on Friday night. She experienced immediate hyperness. Obviously, she wasn't able to sleep very much that night. The next morning, she experienced a "freak out" session where she was very antzy and paranoid. Since then, she has had one episode of accelerated heart rate - around 120. She is also shaky at times as well as experiencing breast pain - commonly associated with too much caffeine.
Obviously, I do not approve of the consumption of energy drinks but like many things teens do - this was done away from the home. I have taken her off all caffeine since last friday and I think she may be experiencing caffeine withdrawls.
I am scheduling her for a doctors appointment for the beginning of next week. In the meantime, I was wondering if this sounded consistent with caffeine withdrawals or the side effects of the black mamba drink?
Any advice would be helpful.
john m replied: "is not the caffeine is something else many has die already,no body is listening.
red bull in under scrutinizing."
shane s replied: "Energy drinks caused the hyperness and possibly the antziness the next day due to lack of sleep, but the high dosage of cafeine and sugar although not good for her would not continue to cause the same thing unless shes still drinking them
remember cafeine is a drug and can be addictive"
How to get my caffeine intake cut down from 613mg per day to 280mg per day? Hi I'm not sure if there are any differences between male and female in this case but don't let my av confuse you, I'm male. If you need to know why my av's female look at my profile.
Anyway, I'm a caffeine addict, I currnetly take in 613mg a day, I don't suffer any of the side-effects of caffeine except one, which is increased urinating, other than that, I get plenty of sleep, very calm and relaxed, can sit down without fidgeting for ages but if I need the bursts of energy really fast I can get them and I very rarely suffer headahes.
In science we've been doing about drugs and one section was on caffeine, now I know the amount to get you addicted is 280mg a day, and we were asked to work out our own intake and when my teacher saw mine he said that my intake is really high and seen as it is more then double the dosage to get addicted I need to cut down as it could cause major damage to my body. So I thought that I should try and cut down to 280mg as that is kinda the milestone for addiction.
So any tips on how I can cut down without triggering withdrawal symtons cos I've been told that they can occassionally be quite bad even though it is only caffeine.
Any advice on cutting down?
I'm 15 and get all my caffeine from the soft driink Pepsi Max.
I don't want to cut out my caffeine completely, nor do I want to go below the addiction line but I would like to lower my intake.
By the way, I want to know if any has any idea why I don't suffer the side-effects, I'm really lazy so I'm hardly burning it off in running or anything, infact as soon as I've finished drinking a 2litre bottle, all I want to do is sleep, lol.
I mean after drinking a 2litre bottle of Pepsi Max all I want to do is sleep, I find that odd as caffeine a stimulant, not a sedative, lol.
Joe C, get lostt, one I hate coffee, two, caffeine is a drug, just like alcohol and tobacco meaning in certain does it will be addictive as the human boday will eventually get used to the chemical and if you suddenly take it off that chemical it suffers withdrawal.
Oh also Joe C, there's also something called caffeine poisoning as well, i wouldn't like having that.
joe c replied: "What ? its coffee for gods sake not heroin !! Just drink less coffee and stop being such a wuss."
Dreamangel replied: "OK this I know i can comment on!..I too am addicted to the Coffee! I have to have a cup upon waking and a cup before going to bed, otherwise I cant sleep! yes you read that correctly...i cant sleep! I use to drink over 15+cups A day, as soon as one cup emptied I'd be up to get another one. I ended up in hospital once and was told I had a mild form of a stroke.(I was 26 at the time). the Doc told me that all that coffee was not good for me. So with time i cut it right back to 2-3 cups a day.. and then drinking just hot water. I found that within time I started to drink more and more again. And now I have to take the time and really think about how much coffee I am drinking, and the way I do this now, is to think about the habit I had created and break it. its all in the mind, you become use to doing things, say that every day at 11am you have a cup,but tomorrow at 11 you make a note to say no not today, today I will have something else. And start to break down the coffee intake. I understand what its like, for me if I don't drink it, I have bad headaches and feel down!. As for your cola drinks, there are plenty of caffeine free ones, just change them over. You know they say a habit can be broken within the first 3days of trying. Good luck...just try hard for the next 3 days."
Please give me some advice.? Hi everyone.
Lately in my class we have been talking about schyzophrenia. I am quite paranoid by this disease. I feel as if i will get it or somehow have it. It kinda terrifies me. No one in my family has it or anything. I am perfectly mentally stable. I just worry sometimes. So, today i wake up and felt like i was still like kinda dreaming. Like everything i do is on automatic pilot. Please help. I'm not on drugs or anything. Can it be caffeine withdrawal? Is it just my mind playing tricks on me? Its not like bad i just feel like weird. help.
Thanks.
I just really wanna feel like i did before. Someitmes i daydream and it feels like that today.

Barbara replied: "sometimes or maybe a lot of times someone hears about an illness and the next step is omg. I have the system or that is me I'm sick.Later that feeling may go away or you in your mind can make it worse. Believe me I know a lot of people do that. In your case talk about it verbally to someone even if you can't say it aloud print your question and let someone know how you feel. NOW"
XxXHannaXxX C replied: "hi hun, you have developed the early stages of schyzophrenia."
Discovery replied: "I know what you mean. This is what happens to us when our thinking is concentrated for too long on a subject that is a worry to us, try to tear yourself away on to more pleasant subjects. We were having tuition on an unpleasant subject just after we joined the forces, and the imagination of one person in the class was so concentrated he passed out and had to be carried from the room by the tutor, no-one else was affected in the least. That seems to be how you have become to some extent."
vetech_61 replied: "Put aside your unbelief and Say this prayer so God can come into your life, He is right there waiting, hoping You will make this choice & say it.
He has a plan for your life He can and will help you with everything. He wants you to be the best you can be. He loves you and gave You free will to choose having His unfailing love in your life or not He loved you first and left the door open for you. Its up to you to walk through into His loving arms.
God can help you, If only you ask Him.
If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:
"Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask You in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve You always." Amen
He helped me and I want you to feel his Love too.
Then pass on this prayer to others so they can get to know Gods unfailing love too!"
